Fieldfare chick

Fieldfare chick

All taped up. The claws were just as bad as the rest of the leg. They look distorted most of the time. The back claw was constantly forward with the three others instead of staying back. As a result, the chick hardly had a grip on my fingers or a branch. Taping the claws like a duck gave the chick some balance. Taping the tarsometatarsus (see leg skeleton image) together also greatly help, but I still had to tape something hard in between to keep the legs parallels. Credit: Yalakom
