Small kiwi cicada

This friendly cicada paid a visit to my garden, in Dunedin, this morning.

More than 40 cicada species are found across New Zealand and I have therefore given up the challenge of identifying this particular specimen. If you get a chance to take one of these beautiful, harmless insects in hand, you will enjoy the feeling of their scratchy little feet rubbing on your skin.

Location: Dunedin, New Zealand (South Island)

  1. Ahaha no I wish I had one tho, maybe I’ll buy one soon. One of my roomates here in NZ has some Nikon lenses that I wanna look at. But I’m still quite satisfied with my 55-200mm 🙂 I hope you are well! I have been really bad at keeping my blog up since I arrived here… but hope to post some this WE! I must catch up with your blog soon!
