This friendly cicada paid a visit to my garden this morning. More than 40 cicada species are found across New Zealand and I have therefore given up the challenge of identifying this particular specimen. If you get a chance to take one of these beautiful, harmless insects in your hand, you will sure enjoy the feeling of their scratchy little feet rubbing on your skin and appreciate the incredible detail of their special wings.

Hey Hui, thanks! I was so excited seeing a cicada for the first time 🙂 Photos were taken with a point-and-shoot!

Ahaha no I wish I had one tho, maybe I’ll buy one soon. One of my roomates here in NZ has some Nikon lenses that I wanna look at. But I’m still quite satisfied with my 55-200mm 🙂 I hope you are well! I have been really bad at keeping my blog up since I arrived here… but hope to post some this WE! I must catch up with your blog soon!
